string(1108) "Farm Owner Name Signs
Commonly known simply as Farm Name Signs, this term is somewhat of a misnomer. They are not the names of the farms themselves but rather of the family names of the original farm owner. Interestingly, these names remained even if the original farm owner's family no longer owned the farms. In some villages, other important community buildings such as schools were also given these signs. An initiative from the local domowina group in Dissen/Dešno were the first to install the signs in 20??(link to articles). Shortly thereafter other surrounding villages implemented similar projects. This type of sign displays monolingual Lower Sorbian text in wihite German lettering (Frakutrschrift) on a blue background with a thin white border and can be found in the following villages in Lower Lusatia: Dissen/Dešno, Striesow/Strjažow, Heinersbrück/Móst, Radewiese/Radowiza, Jänschwalde/Janšojce and the Cottbus city district Döbberick/Depsk. Additionally, the local inititatives in villages of Gulben/Gołbin (Link to RBB Serbski Beitrag) and Tauer/Turjej have also been discussed."
